What levels of cover are available with for a Scenic motorhome?

You can choose from three different levels of campervan cover as detailed below

Third-party (TPO)

TPO is the legal minimum required to drive a motorhome legally within the UK. It is very basic, providing no cover for your motorhome and only covering the third party.

Third-party fire and theft (TPFT)

TPFT is the same as TPO cover, with the addition of fire and theft protection for your motorhome. Similar to TPO, it does not provide any cover for damage to your vehicle or your property.

Fully comprehensive

This is the highest level of insurance available in the UK. It provides cover for your motorhome, yourself, your occupants, and your property. Cover is also provided for the third party.

Insurance Savings Tips for your Scenic Motorhome

Take steps to improve security and reduce the risk of your valuable motorhome being stolen or vandalised.  A safe motorhome is less risk and will help to reduce the cost of insuring your campervan.  The list below is not exhaustive, but provide some ideas that you can implement or consider in order to further reduce costs of insurance.

  • Installing an approved tracking device, example the SWIFT command tracker. After buying and fitting, you then pay a monthly subscription for the tracking service. Some insurance companies, including SWIFT motorhome insurance offer a discount on motorhome insurance if such a device is installed.
  • Driver’s History :Drive carefully and build up a good history of not making insurance claims against your policy. When renewal time comes around, this will help to lower the renewal costs.
  • Secure storage when at home or off the road. This should keep your luxury motorhome out of sight when not in use, and the storage should have cameras and alarms fitted.
  • Miles Covered : If like many you only use your campervan a few time per year, opting for a policy based on miles driven. Other options to consider include temporary motorhome insurance, or a pay as go policy.
